2015 is officially on the doorstep, and with it, a whole new year for automakers to wow and dazzle consumers and critics. There have already been an avalanche of new models to hit the market, but there are also still plenty to look forward to. Though 2014 was definitely a year to remember for plenty of negative reasons, next year brings renewed hope and excitement.
Many consumers and auto buffs have been able to get a head start on 2015’s new models. As the new year has approached, more and more automakers have unleashed their newest creations to the market, and there have been many to choose from. The next generation of vehicles are loaded with much-anticipated new tech features and innovations, from aluminum construction to more fuel-efficient engines. Needless to say, there’s an awful lot to be excited about.
So, what were some of the top vehicle redesigns and debuts of 2014? Though many are 2015 models, they are already on sale, and available on dealer lots right this second. It’s hard to whittle it down to a top 10, but we’ve managed to do it, although there are plenty of other candidates out there. Read on to see the top 10 new vehicle debuts of 2014.

1. Cadillac CTS-V
If there’s one brand out there that has really been turning things around over the past few years, it’s Cadillac. Earlier this week, Caddy presented to the world the 2016 CTS-V, a luxury car turned performance monster that now houses a 640 horsepower V8 engine, and can go from 0-60 miles per hour in just 3.7 seconds The CTS-V keeps getting better year after year, and soon it will be joined by its brother, the ATS-V. Together, Cadillac will have two incredibly formidable luxury performance cars that will be able to give almost anything on the road a run for its money.

2. Ford F-150
America’s long-time best-selling vehicle, Ford decided to roll the dice with its F-150 pickup with a new redesign and some other added extras. The facelift that the F-150 received for the 2015 model year makes the truck leaner, meaner, and more fuel efficient than ever before. The truck is also being given the aluminum treatment, lowering the truck’s weight significantly, and also adding even more in terms of fuel economy. With a variety of engine and trim options, the F-150 is as customizable as ever, and keeps on improving with age.

3. Ford Mustang
Ford wasn’t satisfied with only giving their best-selling pickup line a makeover, also pulling its timeless Mustang pony car into the garage for some enhancements. For 2015, the Mustang is sleeker and sexier than ever, and also has plenty of performance enhancements allowing it to keep pace with competitors from Dodge and Chevy. Like the F-150, the Mustang is now more fuel efficient, and has a choice of three available engines, depending on consumer preference.

4. Chevrolet Corvette Z06
If one 2015 model has been getting the most attention, it’s the new Chevy Corvette Z06. Since its announcement, critics and auto buffs from all around the globe have been on-edge waiting for the new Z06 to hit the market, as it is being hailed as a supercar that can keep pace with the world’s quickest cars, but also remains affordable by performance standards. The Z06 is already raking in a number of different awards, and has climbed the ranks to Chevy’s fastest car of all time.

5. Chrysler 200
If any car can be given the “most improved” award for 2015, it’s the Chrysler 200. Though Chrysler was recently fading in the public eye, it has made a resurgence this past year and is now producing some seriously formidable products, the 200 included. Entering into the crowded mid-size sedan segment, the 200 gives consumers a viable and American-badged alternative to competitors like the Honda Accord or Toyota Camry. The redesigned 200 is more powerful and fuel efficient, and the desperately needed aesthetic updates are surely catching some attention.

6. Volkswagen Golf Family
The German engineers at Volkswagen are definitely doing something right, and the redesigned Golf is proof. The Golf is another vehicle that is raking in accolades, already having been named Car of the Year by Motor Trend. The design has been updated, of course, but so have other aspects including efficiency and safety, and the vehicle remains a tremendous value. Particularly of note, the new e-Golf is really set to make some noise — thought not literally. The e-Golf is a plug-in electric version of the traditional model, and given the popularity of hybrids and electrics recently, it could really become a hit.

7. Lexus NX
In the luxury crossover segment, 2015 is bringing some great new models with it, like the Lincoln MKC. But the Lexus NX is definitely set to runaway with consumer’s hearts, given its bold styling and slate of new features. In addition to the new aesthetics, Lexus has loaded the new NX with cool technology, like a remote touchpad and the company’s Enform display. Perhaps most importantly, the NX houses a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that will give this SUV plenty of jump, along with solid fuel economy, making it the first turbocharged engine offered in a Lexus.

8. Chevrolet Colorado
One vehicle that is truly entering the market with a bang is the Chevy Colorado, the mid-size pickup truck that has been absent from the market for a few years now. The Colorado has done enough to impress plenty of critics already, and GM is banking that it — along with its corporate cousin the GMC Canyon — can put a dent in the sales of competitors like Toyota and Nissan. The Colorado brings an American truck to the market that is more efficient and manageable, and perfect for those looking for the best aspects of a Silverado, without the size.

9. Mercedes C-Class
German luxury automaker Mercedes-Benz just unleashed its new and improved C-Class onto the market, and for those looking to update their ride, it may be the ideal choice. As Mercedes says, “more haste, less waste. More torque, less pork.” The new C-Class has received augmentations almost everywhere, with 20% boosts to power and torque, as well as new tech and interior features. Naturally, there are a couple different models under the C-Class umbrella, and both of them are updated and ready to roll, starting at under $40,000.

10. Subaru Outback
Subaru has been hard at work when it comes to redesigns, and 2015’s Outback is the latest recipient of a facelift. Though many are awaiting a 2016 redesign to the WRX, loyal Outback fans are sure to get a kick out of the fresh face Subaru has given its modern classic. There are of course several models and trim levels to choose from, with improvements to the interior, and under the hood. The new Outback also borrows from the success of the XV Crosstrek, giving drivers the rugged, all-wheel drive experience they have come to know and love.
